ABOUT GOYAQEEN
THE CONCEPT OF YAQEEN IN ISLAM
In Islam, Yaqeen (Arabic: یقین) generally translates to certainty or conviction. It refers to a deep, unwavering belief and trust in Allah, His attributes, and His commands, often considered the highest level of faith and spiritual realization. Yaqeen is not just an intellectual understanding but a profound, experiential conviction that permeates one’s being.

Muslim scholars describe different levels of yaqeen, including:
- ‘Ilm al-Yaqeen: Knowledge-based certainty, where one’s belief is based on what they have learned.
- ‘Ayn al-Yaqeen: Empirical certainty, where one’s belief is based on direct observation or experience.
- Haqq al-Yaqeen: Certainty through experience, where one’s belief is a direct and profound realization of the truth.
Yaqeen is a crucial aspect of the Islamic faith, as it provides strength, resilience, and a sense of peace and contentment in the face of life’s challenges. Yaqeen is often described as the culmination of faith, where one’s belief in God is so strong that it becomes a part of their very being.
Muslims strive to cultivate yaqeen through various means, such as reflecting on the verses of the Quran, pondering over the signs of God in creation, and engaging in righteous actions which includes eating, drinking and other daily life activities.

OVERVIEW OF HALAL REGULATION IN MALAYSIA
In Malaysia, halal regulation is primarily overseen by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), with support from state Islamic Religious Councils. The Trade Descriptions Act 2011, along with related orders, governs the use of halal labels and prohibits misleading descriptions. Several standards and protocols, including MS 1500:2009 and the Malaysian Protocol for Halal Meat and Poultry Productions, provide guidelines for halal food production, preparation, handling, and storage.
HALAL AS A LIFESTYLE OF CHOICE FOR MUSLIMS

In Islam, halal (حلال) means permissible or lawful. It refers to anything that is allowed according to Islamic teachings, particularly in dietary matters and other aspects of life. The opposite of halal is haram (حرام), which means forbidden or unlawful.
Halal is most commonly associated with food and drink, indicating which items are permissible for Muslims to consume.
Observance of halal is a core principle for Muslims, guiding their choices and actions in accordance with their faith.
